What Are UI and UX? Why Are They So Important?

Even if you do not have much knowledge in the software field, you may have heard of the concepts UI and UX. We will explain in detail in this content what these concepts, used even for an application or a simple site, actually are. Hold tight, here we go.

WHAT IS UI?
As you might guess, UI is an abbreviation. It is derived from the English words User Interface, which means Kullanici Arayuzu in Turkish. Yes, when you say it in Turkish, something may have come to mind. But let's elaborate a bit by going into the technical side.

The User Interface is the part that appears on the screen of a website, application, or even a simple electronic device. We can call the totality of all the screens where you search, use the functions presented to you, read something, and even examine products the user interface. In short, the parts of the above devices and software that you see and can perform operations on are the UI. 

WHAT IS UX?
Just like UI, UX is also an abbreviation derived from English words. Its origin appears as User Experience. All of the feedback you receive after the operations or experience we mentioned in the UI section falls into the UX class. From e-commerce to the gaming sector, from electronics to websites, this concept is quite important in many areas.

The Relationship Between UI and UX
No lie, sometimes we confuse these two words with each other quite a bit. The main reason for this is that they look similar in form and are quite related to each other. We could talk at length about their relationship, but briefly: UI creates UX, and UX makes UI better.

The abbreviation above may have confused you a bit, for which we apologize. We can guarantee that the explanation we will provide in this section will make that sentence memorable. Each of the operations performed on user interfaces creates a certain idea for the user. We can diversify these as: 'The site is very slow,' 'I cannot find what I want,' 'The site is very complex,' and so on. This diversified part exactly constitutes the UX, the User Experience portion.

Of course, as you can tell from the structure of the first sentence, the cycle does not end here; all the data obtained under User Experience becomes guidelines for UI development. We can give an example from our daily lives: in food ordering applications, taking customers' criticisms of products and changing products in line with these criticisms in response to demand.

Why Are They So Important?
Now we come to the most critical part: WHY ARE THEY SO IMPORTANT? There needs to be a guide for the money you will spend on the development of your business or website. At this point, you can follow two paths:

• You can create UI through trial and error, get your own UX feedback, and act accordingly, or
• You can act with the help of teams experienced in UI and UX (Which would be us, PROJX)

If we say that gambling is being played when UX is not given importance in UI arrangements that are the main factor of companies' action plans, it would not be wrong. Have you ever heard the concept of UXD? This concept is also the abbreviation of User Experience Designer. I can almost hear you asking: 'What does this person do?' 'Can user experience be designed?' You will be surprised, but yes, UX is also an area that can be improved with design.

Another thing that will surprise you is this: what is expected from people in the UXD position is not software or coding knowledge, but knowledge in areas such as Anthropology, Psychology, or Sociology. Another fundamental qualification sought for this position is proficiency in graphic design.
