What Are UI and UX Design?

UI and UX are often confused, but they are not the same. UX builds the logic and the flow of the experience. UI designs the visual face of that experience. Successful products manage both in a disciplined way.

UX (User Experience)

It is the process of the user reaching their goal: "Are they finding it?", "Do they understand it?", "Do they trust it?", "Are they struggling?"
Focus: Flow, speed, clarity, trust and frictionless use.

UI (User Interface)

The visible part of the screen: typography, color, hierarchy, buttons, components, micro-interactions.
Focus: Visual consistency, brand posture, readability.

Short Analogy

UX = the floor plan of the house and where the doors open.
UI = the materials of the house, the lighting and the style.
A product that looks beautiful but is hard to navigate loses out in the long run.
